Designer of Kakao Talk's famous Ryan character transfers to Big Hit Entertainment

Designer Chun Hye Rim has joined Big Hit Entertainment.

According to a report by Seoul Economic Daily on January 23, the designer, who created the famous Ryan character for Kakao Talk, has recently transferred to Big Hit Entertainment.

Back in 2014, Chun Hye Rim entered Daum and played a vital role in the success of the Kakao Friends characters. Recently, she left the company after 5 years and is now expected to take charge of the character-related business for BTS in Big Hit Entertainment.

BTS has already participated in character products such as BT21 forNaver's LINE, however, Big Hit Entertainment does not have a character business of their own. With Chun Hye Rim, the agency is expected to grow their character business.

A rep from the IT industry highlighted the growth and importance of creative content in all fields, stating, "Recruiting talents in content (business) is getting competitive, not just in the IT industry but in all industries in general."
